Actually, Bowditch *used* to be on-line, but they removed it.  I
presume they're updating it or rescanning it.  It looked to me like the
pdf files were nothing more than image scans of the original book.  I
find the pdf files rather difficult to view unless you zoom in a lot.

Luckily, someone mirrored it before it was taken down, so you can still
download it from

  http://xanth.ims.plym.ac.uk/users/subject_areas/navigation/tools/bowditch.htm

When the "official" copy come back up, my guess is that it will be a
better version, or at least a better scan.
