I am wanting to learn to find my position the old school way with nothing more than a sextant, an almanac, and a watch. No matter where I am inland. As i am rarely at the sea, to just learn the skill and see how close I can get no matter where i am. I can learn the process and the math my only stumbling block is the issue of being inland with no large body of water to shoot from.  Can position be determined taking shots at any other time than at noon during the day?
