    They do rotate and function. Even with full sunshine I didn't experience any after image of the sun just was brighter then I thought they should be. With a very thin overcast the amount of light was fine.  As the sextant was made by Bendix I assume that they are WW2 vintage. Think I'll get new replacements for evaluation. Or stick with the moon!
