Thank you! As it turns out, he was referenced quite a few times in that link I posted previously:

which is reassuring. He's quoted there are saying that the variability of extinction due to atmospheric aerosols is "rabid"... which made me laugh. It's an apt description.
And welcome back, George. Hope you're feeling well, and I do hope you'll find time to post on NavList. While summers are often quiet on NavList, presumably because people find better things to do when the weather is nice (and we're a mostly northern hemisphere group), this month will probably turn out to have the lowest message volume since 2008.
