In the attached image, the height of eye (height of camera) changes from about ten feet to about two feet, and the ship sinks. The vessel is "Star Express" (http://marinetraffic.com/ais/showallphotos.aspx?imo=9311000) as seen about 8 n.m. offshore from Mackerel Cove here on Conanicut Island.

Frank, are you sure about the camera height? In the first photo, the ship is fully hull up, with a water line that is closer than the horizon. If the ship is 8 n.m. offshore, the camera height would have to be closer to 50 feet.
