    R: Haversine formula

    Hello Alexander,
the haversine method was meant to make calculation with tables easier so
unless you want to work your sights the old way (with Norie's or similar)
the sin h formula is definitely more suitable for a scientific
    calculator....
If you want to know how the haversine formula was derived instead I'll be
pleased to give you some more infos.
    Bests,
    Federico

    Hello All,

I have a book called "Practical Navigation for Second Mates" and it
details the procedure for sight reduction using haversines.

I am from the scientific calculator age and I was wondering if someone
had a simple explanation on how haversines can be used?
