Thanks for the check Antoine. PH also checked the simulation and found some errors which I have corrected and highlighted in an attachment. Polaris by Pub 249 may not be the best way to reduce for this exercise. I do not have the current NA Polaris tables so if anyone out there wants to give it a shot here are the givens:

    2 June 2013
    05:00:31 UT
    H.E. 100 ft.
    I.C. +2.0'
    a.p. 24* N 143* 40' W
    Hs 23* 02.1' Polaris

    Hello Greg,

I have checked your results with my software which I trust should be accurate to +/- 0.1' (with all our well known caveats about dip correction). Results are as follows :

    19:00 LT (05:00 UT) Position N 23°25'1 W 143°40'0 with a LOP dispersion of 3.0 NM.

From what I can read from your Fix Chart I can "guessee" that the results hereabove are within 2 NM from yours, and maybe within 1 mile.

Best Regards from south Bretagne France

    Kermit
