    Sure, I suppose. Still, with Cotter [according to Andrew  Young --I don't
    have a copy handy to confirm it] claiming that this  had been suggested often, it
    would be interesting to chase down the origin  of this particular bit of
    dubious lore. Certainly, waiting for the "green flash"  would not be superior to
    observing any old sunset, and quite likely, since the  green flash arises from
    unusual refraction, it would be worse than an ordinary  sunset observation.
