"--Here's another one for fun: Can you go from Atlantic Canada to Pacific Canada on a great circle route that passes near Antarctica?
A few more years of global warming, and Antarctica might shrink enough to make it easy sailing."
Heh. Yeah, I've decided my original route doesn't work. My manual "globe rolling" wasn't good enough for such a long trip! But I have another plan before breaking out the software solutions. :) Actually I did an exhaustive search by software for ocean great circle routes back around 1998. I could dig that up, but at this point developing a manual globe solution sounds like better entertainment.
