That's the one that I found, too. This is one of those cases where a good old-fashioned globe can come in handy. For a great circle, you just roll it over and see where it leads. This one runs across the whole Pacific and ends up somewhere near the Kamchatka Peninsula. With a globe, it only took about 30 seconds to find that path.
My personal favorite is local. If you head out on a great circle from southern New England on an initial bearing to the southeast, where do you end up? It's a long way. You hit land in southwest Australia.
