    I incorrectly stated the following for the azimuth formula INV SIN [COS DEC x SIN LHA / COS Hc]

    " When LHA is greater than 90 and less than 270 then apply the calculator result off the elevated pole."

    It is necessary to determine the prime vertical using the formula INV SIN [ SIN DEC / SIN LAT ]. If Hs altitude is less than the prime vertical altitude then the azimuth formula value is applied from the elevated pole.

    Or use the Rust Diagram as Gary suggests. Keep a copy of the Rust Diagram in the Nautical Almanac.
