    Gps Vs. Celestial Navigation

GPS and Celestial Navigation can be complementary primary means of
navigation. A quality sextant used with a Palm PDA that has celestial,
almanac, and chronometer software installed will yeild a line of
position in less than a minute. The back-up roll now belongs to the
Pub 249 tables. The Palm PDA can do tides and piloting duties as well.
