    Frank,

What an amaingly useful note.  It makes me totally revisualize how clearing works.

Attached are three text files. They are my calculator test cases for John Carl and for the Frank Reed and Bowditch-Thompson methods demonstrated in your Lunars workshop.  Notice towards the bottom of each test case is a %ch and most are negative. That is, the LD cleared came out smaller than LD pre-cleared.

The data sources for each of my test cases are in the footnotes. My calculator program is verbos, I want to see key intermediate values, not just the final cleared one. I'm still learning lunars, so I make no claims my claculator results are correct.  But I do get good agreement with footnoted sources.

Now I have to go back and reflect on what you have pointed out in your note.

Thanks for taking the time to prepare this note.

    Ed
