I have an 18 inch (terrestrial) globe, which is just about large enough to do sight reductions directly with a large pair of compasses. Put the point of the compasses where the geographical position of the celestial object is, strike of an arc around the DR position equal to the altitude angle. And... I can take it on a small craft because it is a blow-up globe, so it can be deflated and packed away when not needed! ;-) Geoffrey
