    Globes as cel-nav aids on small craft

    I have an 18 inch (terrestrial) globe, which is just about large
    enough to do sight reductions directly with a large pair of
    compasses. Put the point of the compasses where the geographical
    position of the celestial object is, strike of an arc around the DR
    position equal to the altitude angle.
    
    And... I can take it on a small craft because it is a blow-up globe,
    so it can be deflated and packed away when not needed! ;-)
