Here is one I could kick myself for. Back in the 1970's I was browsing around at "Acres of Books" in Long Beach. I came across a book on Celestial Navigation in German copyrighted around 1943. It had belonged to a German Naval Officer. Had his signature, rank, his ship everything. In the front cover it had a circular stamp inside was the Nazi eagle holding a wreath with a swatika. The Price was $5.00. I had the $5.00, but I didn't read German and thought the book would be of little value learning navigation. Went home, thought about it, came back the next day. It was gone!! Best deal, though. I did buy a whole set ( minus Lat 30-35 ) of H.O. 214 for $40.00 a year or so ago. I already had the missing volume so now I had a complete set. -- Gordon ,,, (. .) +-----------------------ooO-(_)-Ooo----------------------+ | Gordon Talge WB6YKK e-mail: gtalge@XXX.XXX | | Department of Mathematics QTH: Loma Linda, CA | | Notre Dame High School Lat.
