Thank you sending us the sad news that George has passed away. When you
wrote a couple of weeks ago asking for an email address, I had feared that his health had taken a turn for the worse. I am very sorry he won't be joining us again, and I'm genuinely sorry I never got the chance to meet him, especially since I am planning a trip to London in March. Most NavList members know that George and I frequently disagreed on some technical issues involving the history of navigation and other matters, but I always welcomed his messages since they were invariably well-written and intelligent.
