For non-US members of the list puzzled by my amusement of that castle's name, allow me to explain.
There is an animated cartoon show, primarily for adults, which has been airing for 24 years (500+ episodes). The lead character is Homer Simpson.
Whenever Homer makes a crazy mistake, he exclaims "Doh!".
In the US, the phrase has become associated with making a bone headed mistake. No offense to Sean, but I was completely puzzled by his in-ability to see how an arcsine was performed! Wasn't he using sine functions? When I explain the obvious, his response was "Doh!", meaning "How could I not have seen that" or "What a crazy mistake!"
Hence my complete amusement at that ridiculously named castle in Ireland. I'm sure the locals thought I was a mental patient.
Go Homer!
Hey thanks, Brad!
Y'know, that was actually my first instinct. To just do the reverse of finding sin or cos. But when I checked the results with a calculator, nothing matched. It wasn't until yesterday that I noticed my calculator had been set to radians instead of degrees!...Doh! ;)
