    Thanks for the coordinates, Frank.  It looks to me, trying to match the ship photo to Google's satellite mapping as closely as possible, that the place where the wreck happened was at:

    ...and indeed, this DOES look like insurance fraud.  There was a nice gravel beach for use just 100 yards south of where they landed...and a sandy beach a little bit south of that. They had to actually work a little bit to find some rocks to punch holes in the hull.
