    Interesting NBC News article as well as the subsequent threads on GPS jamming.  I thought you and NavList might find the following August 2016 IEEE Spectrum article of interest.  It is entitled "GPS Lies" or "Protecting GPS From Spoofers Is Critical to the Future of Navigation, GPS is vulnerable to spoofing attacks.     The article discusses many issues including the 2016 capture of 2 USN riverine command boats near Farsi Island and the 2011 RQ-170 Sentinel unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near the city of Kashmar; both in Iran.  Does Iran have GPS spoofing attack capability leading to "misnavigating"?
