    Despite my previous post, I couldn’t avoid the temptation to find out a little more about how these displays are produced.  After reading a few articles (below), I confess I’m not much wiser except to say they would appear to be a spin off of an entirely new field of robotics and artificial intelligence known a swarm technology.  As with most such write ups in technical journals, there’re a lot of acronyms and descriptions of what is or might be possible and little technical detail upon how the solution is achieved.  One thing’s for certain however.  The GNSS signal in space is only a small part of it, and at the moment, is not the only communications link.  DaveP
