Could I ask you to describe a little more what sort of a tool you're trying to create? What do you plan to use it for? What level of accuracy do you require in the Moon's position? Who's going to use it? Are you doing this strictly to produce a practical tool (in which case, you may be re-inventing the wheel --not necessarily a bad thing!) or is there some other motivation for your project? Basically, if you could just describe what it is you're up to, it would help us point you to tools and datasets that are right for the job. The Moon is a tricky beast, and there are a great many options! :)
