For anyone coming to L.A. on the 10 (Interstate 10) from Phoenix through Palm Springs I can recommend two more things to see. The General Patton Museum has WW2 equipment, maps, photos, dioramas and, outside, about 20 tanks. The museum is one minute off the 10 freeway at the Chiriaco Summit exit. You go to the top of the exit ramp and then directly into the parking lot. It is a good way to break up the leg form Phoenix to Palm Springs. It is a good place to spend a half hour and stretch your legs.

The other stop is the Air Museum in Palm Springs located at the southeast corner of the airport, about ten minutes off the 10 freeway.

Off course if you stop in Palm springs there are other things to do, many restaurants and the tramway to the top of the mountain overlooking Palm springs..
