Fw: [?? Probable Spam] [rete] Astrolabes at Greenwich
    From: George Huxtable
    Date: 2008 Dec 15, 15:00 -0000

On the subject of the forthcoming publication, by OUP (Oxford University
Press), of "Sextants at Greenwich", by Willem Morzer-Bruns and Richard Dunn,
at the eye-watering price of 120-

Perhaps we just have to wait a few years until it gets classified as a
"remaindered" book, if a lesson can be drawn from the snippet below, sent to
other mailing lists by William Tobin.

If OUP had priced that Astrolabes book more reasonably in the first place,
perhaps they wouldn't have copies left now, that need to be "remaindered".

    George.

Members of Rete may be interested to know that "Astrolabes at
Greenwich--A catalogue of astrolabes at the National Maritime Museum,
Greenwich", by K. van Cleempoel, published by OUP in 2005 for GBP116, is
currently being offered by PostScript Books, a remaindered-book seller (
    http://www.psbooks.co.uk ) for GBP30 + p&p. The PostSript catalogue
    number is 45710.

    William Tobin.
