    Ah yes, I see the problem. I have been using the sine-cosine formulas 
    with a calculator that uses natural trig functions of no problem with 
    using logarithms of negative values of the trig functions. You can work 
    around the problem caused by contrary names of latitude and declination 
    by subtracting the second term instead of adding it. However you can't 
    do this with LHA between 90� and 270� which result in negative values of 
    cosine which would then result in the problem you identified, trying to 
    determine a log of a negative number.Thanks.
