Antoine-
I would add another result to the quite interesting list you have. I used the USNO NOVAs to calculate the altitudes and the LD (LD calculated using altitudes and azimuths, so no 'clearing'). I set up an 'error' function to compute the RMS error in the 4 angles between the observed and what I calculated, as a function of Lat, Long, and Time. I then set a Fletcher-Powell to work to search out the Lat, long, and time of the min of the 'error'.
46 deg 43.171 min N
2 deg 27.503 min W
(I assume jup angles to center, not limb?)
Summary plot attached.
