    Personally, I dislike a too-light sextant.  Subjectively, it seems to
    me that a bit of heft helps dampen the motion and makes for a better
    sight.  On the other hand, I don't want something too heavy to hold
    steady.  Moderation in all things.
    
    I guess it's what one is used to.  Different strokes...
