I have a Freiberger Trommel sextant that I bought on ebay a few years ago, it is my only modern sextant other than a plastic Davis Mk 25, I also have a Heath Mk III Bell Frame, which may be considered to be from around the dawn of modern sextants (1919). To make a long story short, I know hopefully have some free time to get back to learning more about sextants and to practice the are of using them. I would like to be on the lookout for another telescope or two that have compatible mounts to work with the Freiberger to supplement the little 4x40, but I am not sure which other brands of sextants may use the same mounting profile. In particular I am wondering if the SNO-T uses the same mount since it is a knock off of the Freiberger design?
thanks Ike
p.s. Does anyone know of a source for a ring mounting adapter for the Freiberger, my Heath came with a bubble practice site tube that would be nice to use with the Freiberger is I had a way to mount it.
