    Hi George;

    How are you doing?

This is indeed a nav related question because I so enjoy the posts of both you and Frank.

You seem to be whining just a tad which is out of character for you.

My wife tells me I get whiney when I'm not feeling well. Makes me worry about
your health. Should I be? I need to keep you about for a while.

Anything we can do to help?

    Respectfully

    Dave W

    Frank's Postings

I always look forward to Frank Reed's contributions to this list, which are
usually full of insight, and well expressed.

However, he appears to deal with Nav-l traffic in an ususual way, which has
some implications for readers. It seems that he accumulates archived
material, and then deals with the resulting collection by responding, as he
thinks fit, one by one, to each contribution as he gets to it, in order of
receipt. Of course, he is perfectly entitled to respond to the list in any
    way he wishes.

However, problems occur when a question arises that has subsequently been
answered, or when a discussion has moved on from the earlier postings. This
can result in Frank sending a superfluous message, or sending a number of
messages on the same topic. We have to allow for this when we read his
    postings.

If I have misunderstood his procedure, no doubt he will put me right.

What I suggest would be more useful for us all, including Frank, is that
when he decides to deal with his stockpile of messages, he READS them ALL
first. Then, knowing which questions have already been answered, and
knowing where the discussion has by then got to, he can apply finger to
keyboard and tailor his replies accordingly.

It is, of course, a problem that faces all of us that don't have instant
e-mail; that when we post to Nav-l, we don't know how far the discussions
have proceeded since we last downloaded from our in-box. For most of us,
that interval is no more than a few hours. In Frank's case, it can be
several days; that's when the problems arise.

    George.
