Hello Robin, I am interested in the accuracy of this type of binoculars used for taking bearings. How are they?
The paper in the CelNav CD: "Metcalf T.R. and Metcalf F.T. Piloting with Celestial Algorithms, NAVIGATION, Vol. 41, No. 2, Summer 1994, pp 207-214." use the equivalent circle of position of a bearing to solve the fix problem.
