Re: Fix by equal altitude sights around local apparent noon
    From: James N Wilson
    Date: 2009 Oct 12, 11:21 -0700

Malcolm Misuraca said, "Exactly mid-way between the 50 degree sight
    before
noon and the 50 degree sight after noon, as determined by the time of
    each
sight, is local apparent noon." He makes the common error of not
differentiating between the time of maximum altitude and LAN. What he
described gives the time of highest altitude, seldom the same as time at
    LAN.
