Fit vs Regression: what is the difference?
    From: Tony Oz
    Date: 2018 Oct 22, 02:45 -0700

    Hello.

    The documentation for TI83+ says:

    QuadReg (a·x2+b·x+c)
QuadReg (quadratic regression) fits the second-degree polynomial y=a·x2+b·x+c to the data. It displays values for a, b, and c; when DiagnosticOn is set, it also displays a value for R2. For three data points, the equation is a polynomial fit; for four or more, it is a polynomial regression. At least three data points are required.

What is the difference between a "fit" and a "regression"? Which one is more accurate?

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards,

    Tony
