I told the list recently that I was a rank amateur and that is true. This morning I took my first two sights ever - Lunar-Solar distances and cheated by using Frank's calculator to clear them. I found it the best workout for hand eye coordination that I had ever had. I'm the world champion clumsy. The results were: Sight 1: True LD = 70d 34.5m Cleared LD = 70d 36.8m Giving an error of 2.4m which I thought was pretty sloppy. Sight 2: True LD = 70d 23.8m Cleared LD = 70d 23.3m Giving an error of -0.5m which I thought was much better. There is currently an opportunity for Saturn which is much closer to the moon if I can get up early enough tomorrow and if the cloud does not beat me. I suspect that might be easier than chasing the sun across 70 degrees of sky. Regards Mike ____________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo!
