I have several C Plath Navistars and Weems&Plaths that use a custom 3-pin wrench to adjust friction on the filters. I understand from Bill Morris' blog that this wrench was not available for purchase from Plath. I'm trying to adjust friction on the filters as well as replace damaged filters on these sextants.
Do anybody have any experience manufacturing or acquiring such a wrench in order to do this work? I've emailed Bill Morris, but I thought I'd pose the question here as well.
Our sextants get a lot of heavy use by college students learning celestial offshore as part of the semester-long tall ship programs we offer. (www.sea.edu).
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Carl Herzog
