Having used both a Davis Mk 15 and an Astra 111b, I have some understanding of the differences you have experienced, though in fairness, one should note the price differences between the two. Of course, there still remains the fact that one can navigate with the Davis Mk. 15.
By the way, I note that you have commented extensively on artificial horizons, the making and use of same. Re the latest results you mentioned, results that to my relatively uneducated ear sound really good, were these obtained with an artificial horizon, or have you gotten to the beach, it striking me that it’s a lot easier to shoot standing on the beach than it is to play around with artificial horizons, though the latter also work for practice, and possibly for real too.
