Thank you for taking the time for such a detailed and clear explanation. Both yourself, Greg and others are the wonderful thing about Navlist. The generosity with your time and knowledge is very much appreciated. My interest is a historical one in this instance, to satisfy my curiosity as to how those "old salts" did things. I am very comfortable now with the fundamentals and just want to dig a little deeper. My family nor any one I know takes any interest in this "antique" skill, but it pleases me to know regardless. Perhaps you can do a list of the "top ten" things I need to know to call myself a compitent celestial navigator. I will be re-reading your post to absorb it today. My math skills are sub-par.
    Kind regards, Randy
