A picture tells more than 1000 words. To illustrate what it happens at LAN, I have attached two documents: One shows the change of the declination of the Sun over this year, and his speed. The 2nd one has the simulated data in two different scenarios: 1 - a stationary observer. At LAN, (Z = 0º, LHA = 0º), the maximum altitude happens. (in yellow) 2 - an observer sailing at course = N, speed = 20 kt. The instant of LAN, 02:17:15 (Z = 0º, LHA = 0º) and the maximum altitude time are not the same, H=max at 2:17:52. Is interesting to note the values of the derivatives of the altitude: dH/dLHA, dH/dB, specially dH/dDec, at LAN and at Hmax Andrés --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Navigation List archive: www.fer3.com/arc To post, email NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
