    John,

Interesting way of plotting.  Totally different from what I was taught.  When I get home and have access to a scanner, I will plot all of these fix exercises on the Universal Plotting sheets and attach them with the methods I was taught.  I would have thrown out the skewed lines and not even plotted them (Arcturus for example).

As far as scale goes, that is a good scale for a "day's run"  We use the larger scale plotting sheets (9## series) for general ocean navigation.  Those have set latitudes, but open longitudes.  I also use the larger scale on the exams as they are a bit more accurate and easier to set up.

My plotting sheet is attached. Yes, I should have used a larger scale! The
    LOPs are the red lines.

My solution is "manual" in the sense that all the daily data and corrections
are looked up in the nautical almanac and entered into an Excel spreadsheet
that basically follows the instructions in the back of the almanac, corrects
the sextant reading, interpolates between the tabulated almanac values, and
    solves the triangle.
