An assumed position should be within a degree of Latitude to get a decent (a) value in Bowditch table 29. The minutes and seconds to LAN for table 30 is dependent on the assumed Longitude. One degree off will result in four minutes of time error. Plugging this into my example using (a))t^2)/60 will change the ex-meridian correction by 6.2' MOA which shifts the shallow cut fix by 35 NM or so. It seems a second effort using this fix would improve the followup ex-meridian correction. We will have to see what Byron thinks.
