This made me smile, remembering a lecture by an oceanography prof of mine on resonance and the Fundy tides. He had been on an advisory group looking into the possible impacts of a huge (and mad) hydroelectric project there. They had found that building the proposed dam would bring the system closer to harmonic resonance and amplify the tides considerably... As an aside they determined the optimal placement for a dam which would maximize the resonance effects....he figured if they played their cards right they'd be able to flood Boston twice a day and then sell them the electricity to pump their basements out :-) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
