I like to refer to the Bible (New American Edition) and I keep a copy onboard. I also like to have Bowditch, Nautical Almanac and the H.O. 229s for my latitude. I don't have to check websites but I use the HF for WEFAX. If there's a cheap internet cafe nearby, I can get WEFAX off noaa.gov but it would be a convenience not a requirement. Publications: Which publications would you recommend a) as essential reading before an ocean passage; and b) to have on board for an ocean passage? Websites: Which websites would you recommend a) essential to visit before an ocean passage; and b), if feasible, to access during an ocean passage. Thanks.
