    Equallateral triangle

Am I the only one who noticed the equilateral triangle of Spica, Mars and Saturn? We got some neighbors over and looked at them with my telescope, the kids were not impressed with the very red spot of Mars but they lit up when they saw the rings of Saturn. And then the space station passed overhead, southwest to northeast, visible for about five minutes.

I decided to shoot all three tonight with my MA-2 bubble sextant and crossed them with an Altair line to find a fix just 2.1 NM south of my GPS position. A nice evening on my veranda.
