Adding up the two constituents of the equation of time:
Add the green curve (due to the Earth's tilt) to the blue curve (due to the
orbital eccentricity) and you get the green curve (the equation of time). I took
the above diagram from a nice little set of web pages here:
And let's not forget
It's a detailed site on all aspects of the analemma and the equation of
time, and also one of the oldest amateur web sites on the Internet with really
good graphic content on a technical subject. It dates back to the late 20th
century (!).
