That is a great suggestion George! We all know that the Equation of Time varies, but it is the remembering which way it goes from apparent to mean that always causes the confusion. Since the convention these days is for the EoT to be negative in February and positive in October, perhaps the name should be "Sun Gain", that is, the EoT value is how many minutes ahead of mean time that apparent time is currently running. Now we just need a mnemonic couplet for all sailors to chant over and over to burn this relationship into our minds... ;-) Dan --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ To post to this group, send email to NavList@fer3.com To , send email to NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
