Hi, Alan.  Other than a couple of prototypes, one built of paper and cardboard, and the other of paper and plywood, nothing has been made.

I have considered going to a machine shop with a CNC machine to have one made for myself out of aluminum or nickel, and I may still do that.  But the cost would probably be several hundred dollars for one rule.

I think making something like that such that the unit cost is less than $100 is its own sort of specialty area...one involving knowledge I do not have.

A salesman from MakerBot told me that 3D printing wasn't quite up to the challenge yet if making a precision slide rule.

On the other hand, an industrial 3D printing firm here in Edmonton, that builds custom valves for oil pipelines, said they could do the job, but quoted me a price of $1600 for a slide role and $1200 for a case to keep it in.

It may be doable, but I have gotten a little discouraged.

Off point, excuse me if you will. I came on your How to Use the Mark 2 Navigator's Slide Rule today, and was wondering if any of the devices were ever produced. If so, are any available? Please advise. Thanks.
