    Sorry, forgot to answer the other question. Yes, this is for external
    wiring; for the wiring from my bubble attachment to the sextant handle. Even
    trying to be gentle and not flexing the wire at cold temperatures only goes
    so far. Eventually, the wire starts to crack and then I have to replace the
    damn thing. Oh hell, why don't I just pull out the Garmin and forget about
    it all???   (I'm only kidding).
    
    Why fully tinned wire?  What is special about that stuff?
