    Re: Eclipse Sun Moon LOPs

Greg Rudzinski’s eclipse observations processed with Navigation Spreadsheets (standard temperature and pressure assumed):

    SUN:
    GHA: 76° 35.3’
    Dec: N 11° 52.8’
    SD: 15.8’
    Ho: 45° 19.5’
    Azimuth: 109
    Intercept: 0.4 A

    MOON:
    GHA: 76° 09.7’
    Dec: N 12° 28.8’
    SD: 16.1’
    HP: 59.0’
    Ho: 45° 21.6’
    Azimuth: 108
    Intercept: 0.2 T

    Two-body fix:
    Lat: 34° 39.9’ N
    Lon: 119° 01.5’ W

Distance of celestial fix from GPS position: 31 NM; along direction: 019, which is the direction of the two LOPs (that are very nearly parallel with separation only about 1°).

Right now I’m on travel with no metric graph paper at hand, so I just attach a schematic cartoon instead.
