Hey Andrew,
The magnetic pole has always been changing. When
you look at your charts check the center
of any compass rose. It tells you what
year was the last change on the chart's compass rose
and how much (is the Variation) it changes every
year thenon. When you convert your compass reading to true
you have to subtract west or add east
variation to get to your true course.
True - Variation - Magnetic - Deviation -
Compass
(I hope I am not offending anyone)

It is interesting, and I am sure that this will affect our estimated position and compass work in the next several decades. I am not sure how we factor this in, and am wondering if anyone has observed this effect in their work.
