Thanks for that Frank, really useful info.
My celestial nav study stopped at very basic yachtsman and was never put into practice, and I am only just returning, and relearning, the little I knew and am trying to adapt it to land navigation.
I do not expect to reach the level of expertise displayed on this forum but if I can stumble about the country side taking a reasonably accurate fix from time to time I will be more than happy.
