Everyone - the downloadable version is nice - makes it easy to use and have aboard BUT having a computer readable version does not meet the legal requirements. The reason being that computers do fail. Also there is a version in Chapmans but that is not the most up to date. The legal requirement is for a printed copy of the COLREGS. If you print a copy GREAT - if you purchase the copy GREAT. Now before everyone gets upset - I have seen USCG Boarding Officers accept Chapmans for the COLREGS but I have never seen them accept the computer version. It all depends upon the what the BO finds in the balance of the boat. derrick
