Hello,
A little question for George : is the Douwes method a "double altitude method" or an "ex meridian method" ?
Why this question ?
first : the time intervale between the two sun altitude is taken in account in the formula giving the "mean hour angle" ;
second : the formule "sin mer alt = Sin Alt * Cos D cos L vers hour angle" is also use by Mackay (1794) and Norie (1814) in ex medirian method.
Thank you in advance
Jacques
